CSIA Guidelines for attending SAT I & SAT II Subject tests at CSIA
Plan to arrive in plenty of time just in case weather conditions are bad.
Test-takers should have eaten before arriving. Snacks and drinks will only be permitted to be eaten or drunk during official designated breaks outside the test-room or after leaving the test-site when the test is over.
Test date: Saturday, December 6th, 2008
Location: Go to the school main campus and enter from the “Gymnasium” Entrance
After check-in, follow instructions & posted signs to the test room assigned to you.
Be sure to take time for restroom visits before entering the testing room.
Time of arrival: 7 am – 7:30 am (Both registered test-takers & stand-bys)
(Stand-bys will only be admitted on a first-come first served basis if
there are enough vacant spaces and test materials. Standbys should
complete appropriate registration forms and remain in waiting area)
(Registered test-takers have priority.)
Entrance check in from 7:30 – 8:00 am (Doors closed by 8 am, Stand-bys will be seated
Between 8 am and 8:10 am)
Test will end between 12:45 pm – 1:00 pm
Documents:
1. Admission: either “Web Ticket” (printed from the inteet registration)
or “Admission Ticket” (received by mail)
or “Letter of Authorization”
or Stand-bys will need to fill out a registration form and pay
the appropriate fees at the time.
2. Acceptable ID: One of the following is required:
Either a) School ID card with recent (not more than 1 year old)photograph
Or b) Valid passport
Or c) Student ID Form printed on school stationery (signed by
the student, cosigned by the school principal or counselor)
The original form (not a copy) must include a recent photo.
The school seal must overlap the photo
The form must be dated between Dec 7, 2007 – Dec 6, 2008
Or d) Valid Driver’s license or state / national- issued ID
Or e) Valid Certificate of Alien Registration with recent photo
3. Calculators are only allowed for the Mathematics sections of SAT I and the Math Subject test. Calculators will NOT be provided. Acceptable calculators are one of the following: Graphing; scientific, and four-function calculators are acceptable. The calculator may have a checkbook type hinge with mathematical formulas printed on the inside cover. Using calculators on other subject tests or the critical reading or writing tests is NOT permitted and may be grounds for dismissal and/or cancellation of scores.
The following are NOT permitted for use:
Laptops and portable / handheld computers
Electronic writing pads or pen-input / stylus driven devices (eg, Palm, PDAs, Casio ClassPad 300)
Pocket organizers
Models with QWERTY (i.e typewriter like) keypads (e.g. TI-92 Plus, Voyage 200)
Models with paper tapes
Models that make noise or “talk”
Models that require an electrical outlet
Cell phone calculators
4. All other electronic devices or other aids are NOT permitted in the testing area, and ALSO are NOT permitted during breaks.
EG: Hand phones; MP3 players; CD players; radios; beepers, pagers
Recording, copying or photographic devices
Handheld computers or organizers
Electronic study aids of any type
Dictionaries or other books or pamphlets
Cameras; alarm watches; watches containing cameras; timers
Highlighters, pens, or colored pencils
Protractors, compasses, or rulers
Papers of any kind
5. Test-takers are permitted only:
a) Number 2 soft-lead pencils
b) Erasers
c) Calculator (when appropriate) + back-up batteries or additional calculator
6. Back-packs or other personal items will have to be left at the back of the testing room
and the school administration nor ETS cannot be responsible for any lost items. The
test-takers are advised not to bring additional items into the room. Any disturbance
caused by hand-phones ringing or similar noise during the test may be grounds for
dismissal and/or cancellation of scores.
